I CAME ALL THE WAY FROM RENO!!!

I’ve traveled all the way from Reno to see Joey!!! I started having him do my hair when I would visit my daughter in Seattle. However, she has now moved to another state, and so my time in Joey’s chair is now over. I’ve never found anyone as talented at hair as Joey. He’s a genius. I came to him with hair that had been overly processed by my last colorist, and it was a hot mess! Joey started working his magic, and after my very first appointment with him, my hair looked so much better. I LOVED his salon. I loved how he pampered me. I loved the peace and the quiet, which feels like being in a spa. It’s a much different experience than going to one of those salons where it’s so loud that you have to yell at your stylist in order to be heard, and you feel like a number instead of a special client. Rather, Joey greets you with some tea, peaceful music, a nice fire, and the best part of all, the leg massager. I love how he makes it okay to just relax and not feel like you have to talk, unless you want to. However, before he gets down to business, he is all about LISTENING…..something that the hair salon world has no idea how to do. He actually LISTENS to what the client wants, then he makes suggestions, and he is very careful to take his time. Before you know it, you look in the mirror at the best hair color and cut EVER!!!! My color has never lasted so long, and I got lots of compliments on how rich it was. My highlights would grow out without my dark roots showing. I was really amazed, since it was his expert talent at mixing color for that to happen. I’ve never met anyone who was so consistent. So many times in the past I would find the perfect hair stylist, only to be disappointed the very next time I had an appointment with them, because they were having an “OFF” day. Joey is “ON” every time you are in his chair….a feat unmatched in the world of hair! Thank you, Joey, for such a wonderful experience! I wish you all the best!

Just got my second cut and color by Joey and am once again very satisfied. It is a totally relaxing experience from the salon ambience to the marvelous tea, and last but not least . . the oh so relaxing massage chair experience while my hair color was setting. He even sends you home with chocolate! I felt like I’d been to the spa by the time I left. For those who want a unique and peaceful salon experience AND a spectacular cut and color, this is your kind of salon. I am a 50 something woman who was tired of the noisy, trendy salons who seem to cater to the younger set. Joey listens to your ideas, then translates those ideas into a great cut and color. You won’t be disappointed.

Ladies, I treated myself to a great cut and color at this super comfortable salon in Maple Leaf. Joey took the time to hear my hair woes and give great suggestions. The final look is flattering and repeatable – meaning it continues to look great when I try to style it myself. Thanks for the help Joey…I will be back!

I have been skeptical when it comes to finding a good hairstylist for Asian hair. However, my recent visit to Joey’s Salon was a pleasant surprise. Joey is a talented and experienced stylist. I appreciate him taking the time to listen and to communicate. Five minutes into my first appointment, he was able to precisely identify a hairstyle that reflects who I am. He gave a haircut that fits my personality and profession. The haircut is easy to take care of, like he promised (5 minutes in the morning). I have been receiving compliment about my hairstyle from colleagues and friends – well, the credit goes to Joey!

I discovered Hair by Joey through searching the Internet. I took my teenaged daughter to have her hair cut and styled. Joey is very customer-oriented. He listened well to what she wanted him to do with her long-haired style: a bit of layering, but a generally easy-care style. When he was all done, her hair looked fabulous! The salon also has a very relaxing, spa-like ambience which you will enjoy.

I saw Joey for the first time today…the whole experience was fantastic. This is not your typical salon, it is so much better. The atmosphere is so relaxing. The studio is gorgeous. There are peaceful sounds playing and smells amazing. Joey is super friendly and talented. To top it off, there is a massage chair you can enjoy while your color sets. This is not like the massage chairs at the nail salons, this thing is awesome! It massages your arms, legs, back and neck. After you are unbelieveably relaxed, he gives a wonderful head massage during the rinse. Oh…and my hair looks great 
! I will definitely be back to see Joey again.
I have very difficult frizzy curly hair I have damaged for years by chemical straightening. After a tough decision to not straighten for the last five years due to hair loss, and to stop trying to grow my hair long in vain, I researched the best stylists for curly hair. Since my hair grows so slowly, a cut is like a 5 year commitment. Joey’s name came up again and again. Joey was sensitive and kind. He had a vision for a cut and executed it beautifully. I am very grateful and will be back.
