About Joey

For over 30 years, Joey has mastered the art of hairstyling, with an instinctive knack for pairing the perfect cut with each client’s head shape and facial features. Starting in a friend’s salon, he honed his craft before renting space at a premier Seattle salon in 2000. By 2006, Joey opened his own private studio in Northeast Seattle, quickly rising to become one of the city’s top stylists in a fiercely competitive market. His secret? Unwavering attention to detail, genuine personal connections, and a consistent, exceptional client experience.

In 2015, Joey expanded his Seattle salon and entrusted its daily operations to his talented team, allowing him and his wife, Jess, to pursue a new chapter in the Southwest. Drawn to men’s grooming, Joey joined John Hancock Barbershop—Arizona’s top barbershop—in Prescott, where he refined his expertise over three years. In 2019, as John Hancock relocated to a larger downtown space, Joey sold his Seattle salon and home to invest in his own stunning barbershop in West Prescott, just five minutes from downtown.

Since opening HBJ, Joey’s leadership has transformed it from a one-man operation with 150 clients to a thriving hub with nine elite stylists serving over 5,000 active clients. His vision, skill, and dedication continue to redefine men’s grooming in Prescott.
