New Year! New Hair Seattle!

2012 has been a really amazing year here at Hair By Joey. I’ve met so many new people and done so much fun hair. I’ve executed just over 2200 hair services over the last 12 months! The amazing thing about this job is it never gets old for me. There is always something new to try, always new friends to make. If I’m away for more than two weeks… I start itching to do hair. 2013 will mark my 19th year doing hair. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. It seems like just yesterday I was that scared rookie… faking it as best I could until I figured out what the heck I was doing. I’ve learned a lot since then. As busy as I am now, I try to make time for training, shows and hair events to help me keep up on trends. With the staggering array of information available on the internet, I like to poke around online as well for inspiration.

One of the coolest sites I found this year while thinking about new trends is Fasionising.com. They have a surprisingly concise and colorful look at what’s happening in 2013. I’m particularly excited about the comeback strong bangs/fringe have made this year in a trend that looks to be continuing in the months ahead. Additionally it’s been fun playing with strong side parts in otherwise traditional layered cuts. I agree with the writers of the article that this is a look we will be seeing more of in 2013.

Figuring out which of the the coming trends you can most benefit from takes a stylist who understands everything from life style to face shape to the elements of complimentary color. Change is always scary but the new year is a great time to think about taking that step! While finding the best Seattle hair stylist for you can be challenging, making that connection with a good match can absolutely change the way you feel about your hair, your look and your self in the year to come. If you’re ready to change your game in 2013 why not start it with a whole new look?
